What is happening?
Jamf will be enrolled on all OSX and iOS devices allowing us to enhance the level of service provided to Mac for workstations, laptops, and tablets while abiding by state, system, and university rules and without compromising security. This project also includes additional “User Experience” improvements pertaining to Desktop Software, Remote Access, and Security.
Why?
DSA’s primarily supported desktop operating system is currently Centrify, but there are significant limitations. Jamf has been chosen as the next primary iOS and OSX management tool due to its enhanced ability to provide remote support, include iPads, and provide substantial user experience enhancements.
To put it simply, we want to empower you, our Mac users, to do the work you need to do, when you need to do it, with as little interruption as possible to your workflow. This tool allows us to do that while abiding by state, system, and university policies and without compromising security.
When?
The Jamf enrollment project is currently in the enrollment and reporting phase. See the enrollment schedule below.
