Consolidation of DoIT

Providing Quality IT Service Always!

President Banks has released The Path Forward, which calls for organizational restructuring of departments and colleges based on what the MGT report recommended. In the path forward, a centralized structure is recommended for IT services to increase communication, accountability, and customer service.

The change to centralization of IT services means Technology Services – Student Affairs will be working under the Division of IT. We will continue to provide exceptional service to the departments under the DSA as we have been doing before the consolidation. Through the consolidation and centralization of IT units across campus, we are excited to increase the range of our services and resources not previously afforded.

Maintaining customer satisfaction for the departments under DSA has always been DoIT’s main priority, and that will continue during and after the consolidation. The next phase for the path forward calls for working groups for each recommendation to develop implementation strategies and plans. This month groups will be announced and will implement their plans by September 1st, 2022, for full implementation.

Technology Services – Student Affairs has been through consolidation efforts before and provided new services not available before the 2007 consolidation. These services included:

• Dedicated Project Management

• Dedicated Risk & Compliance

• Dedicated Database Management

• Continuous Integration and Delivery Application Development Architecture

• Division-Level IT Governance

• ITIL Framework implementation across all teams

The consolidation will give us more resources to provide more service to support the departments under DSA, and we are looking forward to exceeding customer satisfaction. Providing Quality IT service always!
