Managing Distribution Lists for Your Department in MS Outlook

Outlook Distribution List

We all know how important receiving emails can be to daily business and student interaction. Technology Services – Student Affairs manages more than 500 distribution lists for the Division of Student Affairs. While supervisors can request staff and students be initially added to distribution lists using our New User Account Request Form, we know that students and staff often need to be added or removed from Distribution Groups throughout their employment.

In addition to emailing Technology Services – Student Affairs at [email protected]/it, with a request to add or remove members from Distribution Lists, we have also created Security Groups for each Distribution List so Department Admins or other Director-approved member can manage Distribution Lists at the Department Level. We recommend each Department identify at least 2 people to manage Distribution Lists. Please call or email the ServiceDesk to have members granted this permission. Please visit our website for information on Adding/Removing Members from Distribution Lists, and as always, reach out if we can help in any way!
