Phone Systems at Texas A&M University

The resources given below will help DSA departments plan for their phone needs and stay on supported phone systems.

Texas A&M Division of IT actively supports two phone systems that can be found on-campus:

  • Current Cisco VoIP
  • Original Polycom VoIP. The Division of IT will discontinue support for this phone system after December 31st, 2023

Previously used phone systems can still be found around campus, but the Division of IT only supports the two systems listed above. However, it is important to note the Division of IT will only be supporting the current Cisco VoIP phone system after September 2022.

The cost implication for switching to the current Cisco VoIP phone system is approximated at $190 per phone. The breakdown of the price is:

  • Telecom Service Fee – $33
  • Cost of he Phone – $120
  • AC Adapters for Phone ~ $40
